What is defensive driving?

Defensive driving includes a set of instructions which lets a driver to be safe during the unfavorable conditions like harsh weather, reckless drivers, drunk drivers etc. While driving on the road you may find many hazards and face inconvenience. But you can always pass all these hazards and inconvenience caused by the reckless drivers and extreme weather conditions. You have to be very careful during such a condition and use your defensive driving skills so that you can be able to defend yourself against the unfavorable conditions. The defensive drivers are able to control these situations by their safe practices of driving.
There are some tips for defensive driving which will help you enhance the safety and decrease the chances of smashes, accidents and collisions of vehicles.

1- You must not exceed the speed limits.
2- Follow the traffic signals even on the empty roads.
3- You must be ready for unexpected things to happen on the road.
4- You must know how to react under the unexpected circumstances.
5- Try your level best to cooperate with other drivers on the road.
6- Do not confuse the other drivers while you’re driving so that they will act accordingly.
7- Respect and protect everyone from your vehicle.
8- You must expect the other drivers to make mistakes as well.
9- Not all the drivers follow the traffic rules, are not alert and sober. So you shouldn’t make assumptions about the drivers.
10- Keep your eyes on the road. Stay alert and do not eat, use your phone.
11- Beware while you’re driving during extreme weather conditions.
12- Always be ready while you drive in the parking areas and be thoughtful of the pedestrians do not expect the parked vehicles to remain parked.
